    Portfolio Mockup

I am building a mockup for my Portfolio-Blog. The design is really simple black & white. All I use is just photoshop and marque tool with some brushes. It's still early stage mockup and I am planning to add some flash animation ADZ tag. So far I like this design, say what you think, give ideas.

Try using Lorem Ipsum for your dummy text - it's far more natural looking than blabla

Yeah I would use it, but the thing is I will write in Lithuanian language and as I see Lipsum doesn't support my language

I'm a sucker for b/w and designs, the contrast is just so eye-catching! and I love what you've done with the brushes to create that 'hand-done' feel.

I feel that a lot of your design elements are fighting for attention, perhaps try reorganizing them to provide a more fluent white space. Just my thoughts!

    Cheers

I think B&W is great, but try to add some other color, like cyan or red.... just to focus some atention to your portfolio. It looks poor to me, but that's my opinion.
    Cheers.

I especially like the direction the area when the picture is, with the designs coming out of the bottom.
I agree with the color, could be interesting to see it with a touch of color or even color when hovering over the menu items.

Ok, thank you all for comments. I am back from holidays and back to work. I will try to add a little bit of red.

Ok. The portfolio is almost done with CSS and HTML. It still needs some work with code, cause it's just sucks in IE, but with Firefox and Opera everything should be good. Take a look http://www.blogas.lt/dssd/

Here's my two cents: I agree that B&W designs can be super excellent if done correctly, but there are a couple things, small things, that I think hinder your design from coming across in the best possible way.

First, when viewing the site as a whole, I'm confused as to what kind of theme you're establishing. That is to say, the design seems very basic at first glance, which is excellent if you stick to that, but you've got a couple photoshop brushes stamped here and there of what looks a bit like butterfly wings (especially under the DEMO box) while in other areas (e.g. the graphic under the "stuff" tag) its just abstract smudginess. Then there's the splatter brush in the header. They all combine to confuse the visual themes you're sending.

Second, and this is just my personal taste talking, I think the blurred/faded text only hurts you when working in B&W. Part of the attraction to those sites is the stark constrast, and those blurred edges really remove that from the table.

These comments are only meant as feedback, not criticism. If anything came off as more than helpful suggestion, that was not my intention =)

not sure im liking the motion tween that never stops on the adz logo... make it more visually stand out and then have it stop.. site kinda looks a little mushed around cluttered yet spaced out everything looks so big maybe a little more organization would help it be more appealing! b/w isnt bad though.
