Just did this in Illustrator as a practice piece. I'm trying to see how shiny I can make it look, at the same time wanting to have an original work. I exported it to photoshop for the reflection.

That is nice also. I have to practice some more with the different CS3 programs.

looks pretty good, i think having such a strong white circle going that far down beaks the sphere shape a bit, play around with that :P

I think it would make a strong icon, the reflection might look a bit better less blurred.

I would agree the white inside the sphere try to make it not come down as much. It will help complete the shape more. Other than it's pretty good .

indeed the big white circle is a bit too big, and u can make reflection also in illustrator, no need to edit it in photoshop

The ball does look pretty convincingly shiny. I have to agree that the white part is a little too dominant. Try to take it down a notch, but try to leave a sliver of pure or nearly pure white along the edge as an accent.
