Hey, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do this, but I didn't see anything that said I couldn't. Anyway, I'm working on a piece to put into the new community contest on Reptile Monsters.

Here is the preliminary sketch...c+c is highly encouraged. It's why I'm posting this here! Tell me what you like, tell me what you absolutely abhor about this piece.

I guess you like comic books!. And this Lizardman used to go to fitness club very often. I like this style very much. I'm sorry, I can't say bad word about this drawing. Maybe after color ads i will find such a thing. ;)
Can you have any special drawing training technique ?
Some excercises, some textbooks to reccomend ?

Thanks, and yes, he's there every day of the week ;). I didn't learn via textbooks, only by looking at real life and other pictures.

The only thing that I felt was off a bit was the bicept it shouldn't be smaller than the sholder. But that is actually nitpicking a bit and I had to really look it over to notice.
But other than that EXCELENT illustration. ;)

Now finish it up and submit it.. only a little over a day left. :)

Ilike this drawing better than painted version.
Adding colors was done very quickly, wasn't it ? ;)

yeah, I prefer the drawing too, the painting was evidently a quick thing. But you can definitely clean it up and it will look good.

Even though the contest is over I'd like to see it finished.

I would like to see the finished version as well. I too felt it was rushed with the coloring. My Brother does this type of art. You comic book character folks have to know anatomy or just have one heck of an eye for muscle and joint placement (even being exagerated) Not sure about you but my brother never took art classes He just started drawing but....I think he can recite every dang comic book out there by memory lol.

Do you do much coloring to your work?

Yeah I do a good amount of color, I usually spend somewhere around 15-20 hours per piece though. This one was cut short to about 2-3 hours. I'm a slow artist when it comes to pieces like this. I know, it was rushed, not only was it the base colors/shadows, but it wasn't even fleshed out properly.
