try Cafe Press. You don't have to go through a voting or approval process, just send your artwork and order the shirt. The quality isn't superb, so if this is something you want to be of really high quality, you might keep searching.

    Good luck!

What kind of printing are you looking at? I don't think you are going to get the best quality for $5.00. Is that 5 dollors for shirt and printing? Also you are going to need an extra layer behind your design because of the dark shirt. I think most will require a white underbase but not sure about all the print processes out there. I'm guessing 50 shirts will not be enough to get the cost down to 5 dollars but you never know.

When printing on a black shirt the BEST method is silk screen with a quality screen printer. Since you are looking for "cheapest" - pick a lower cost shirt rather than a lower quality printer. A good screen printer should offer the service of adjusting your art for 'dot gain' which is what happens when the ink goes into the fabric and gets a bit larger. You should not have to do this yourself - now there are even special programs for doing this conversion.

Your art should be okay using the elements from PSD and you should be able to submit it in either program.

It is a good dynamic design. I hope you find a good screen printer in your area who knows what they are doing. Many Promotional Product distributors are knowledgeable and can help you with this. But check with PPAI.org for a referral if you dont know one in your area find someone who has been in the business a while so they will know how to deal with complex art on shirts.

    Good luck

no way you can print that for $5 through a screenprinter - the screen cost alone (I'm seeing a dozen colors at least) would BURY you. Your only option is dtg printing - there are dozens of places online.

digital print doesn't get really vibrant colors and on black is not yet perfected. They start with a 'discharge' ink to take the black out and that isn't really accurate. Then the inks they use are transparent and so they seem more muted. Wholesale cost for digital printing on a black shirt will bring your cost significantly over $5 each. IF you get it done for that I want to know who printed it! Carol

yes - of course screen printing looks better, but you'll be lucky to find someone that will even take a screen job with that many colors. Simulated process would work, but the screening is costly - especially on a run of 50. To print 6 colors is going to cost probably double or triple the budget. You could probably find someone to print it dtg for $6 or $7 dollars.

I prepare art for screenprinting, this would be a very costly design. Digital is the cheapest way to go. Some screen printers carge for color sep. I have seen some of the color sep charges as much as 75.00 for each color then you have the screens themselves. If you have a good printer and the art is prepared right you could get into halftones but you are still looking at a large number of screen for this design. Complex designs are just very spendy then add the dark shirt on top of that. You will neen a white underbase no matter how you decide to print the shirts.

50 tshirts is a small run so you are charged more.

Have you looked into or google tshirt wholesalers? You might be able to find some cheap shirts that way but I would guess most printers will not guarintee the work with someone elses shirts.

    Screen Printing on T Shirts

Be it a monochrome or a combination of colors, only a handful number of T-Shirts or in bulk quantities for the warehouse, screen printing your T-Shirts is one of the best decorations done on T-Shirts. Screen Printing turns ideal for massive, bulk productions. This once utilitarian product is now a fashion statement due to the colors, imprints, logos, cartoon and movie characters, designs, stripes, lines, embroidery and all that were made possible in the free casual wear.

T-Shirts give you the good look with one of sophistication yet the casual look is retained. Screen Printed T-Shirts do not cost you much and their compatibility with any kind of trousers makes them really special. The most popular form of screen printing amidst youngsters is the screen printing of quotes, one-liners, logos of their favorite sports teams, cartoon characters, movie characters etc.

Screen Printing on T-Shirts makes them stand out in a crowd and a few looks thrown back at them by the passersby accomplishes the purpose. It is an expression of their personality when done on an individual level but if the same is done for a business, then, marketing goals are accomplished at a fair cost. Generally, the designs are printed on the chest part of the T-Shirt more for boys and also for girls alike at times.

If you still haven't found any place to print them, I would check out vistaprint.com. They do bulk and have a t-shirt template. You can print their designs or upload your own. They also have the specs they need you to use, such as 175dpi for t-shirts. Also, if you are saving something as .png you can save it with a transparent background.
