    portfolio

Thanks to Dixieland i succed today starting my portfolio. Deviant art was the site i choose, only because by mistake i found them first. But i was wondering if you guys know other, better, sites for portfolio. And by better i mean sites that let you customise much more, and especially if there are any where you can add ambiental music and/or some dynamics in your presentation. or i must learn some html, flash and buy a domain? (smyth.com is taken (, stupid jewelery business)

in my opinion you should make your own portfolio site, it could be in html or in flash or combo those two, doesn't metter 'cause it will reflect your design style and philosophy, you're originality and ideas...
I think that for designers it's important not only to show work online, but to present it in original and different way, which will differentiate them from other designers.
    but that's just me... talking

For the moment, i'm at my beginnings, it's ok with sites that allow you preset presentation

i'm seeking the living one among the dead probably, anyway, a friend of mine looked over the photos, and said there's no photo that meets 7 (1 to 10). can you gus check my photos and tell me, if there's any, that can, in your criteria , meet the big, huge, 7? is there any that you specially like because of the emphasis? colour? framing?

I like some of your photos, especially with horses,
but they will look greater with colour-correction:

There is just an example of that kind of work:

I think your friend is right in some way,
pictures are not bad, but there are little benefits, let's take a look on one of your photos

this is my thoughts why it is not "seven"

Smyth, I have to agree with Solid Creature, When taking your pictures the first think you need to consider is composition. Look through the viewfinder and see what you want the picture to look like. There are are many considerations one being DOF (depth of field) it allows you to focus in on your many subject and blur out the background. Very handy when there are distractions in the background. Learn to fill your frame however don't over fill where you cut off parts of your subject. If there are distractions that can not be moved or hidden recompose your shot. Learn how to use your WB (White balance) If not set correctly you will get color cast that will overshadow your composition. You have many potentially prize winning photos if you just pay attention to the little details. The best way to get better is to keep shooting and have fun... Btw I do like your fire amber shot it has alot of potential and I feel the color saturation is awesome.
