    waiting for suggestions

this is a raw sketch, i'ved made this for my master class. Something like a demo. And it was for my university Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti. I'm waiting for your suggestions and some feed-back.

I have a background in aerospace engineering and this is the reason why i'ved used a shape-like wing in this concept.

what's the 1818 signify? also what are you trying to make?? any information to your design could help. when I look at this I'm not sure what I'm looking at. good idea is to make the message you are trying to portray to be clear. hope this helps.

I agree a little more info might help.

Right now I think the number placement is off, it throws the eye.

1818 it's the year this university was found, and it was a must for the 1818 to be present...

Try some gradients with overlapping colors.

Good too see a new post in the "Works in Progress"!

My first impression is "What is it", that's not to say it "isn't" but for someone who doesn't know better, it is hard to define.

After reading that this may be a wing, I have a couple of suggestions.

The "strings" are a bit distracting, and I don't know what they are supposed to do. I can see that they have been mirrored horizontally to make up the red wing on the right, but I don't feel it is doing it much justice. First impression seeing these elements? I would try to make it appear as if it was going from a sketch into a realistic looking object. I would definitely work on the form of the wing, and maybe even spread it out to feel as if it were actually flying with open wings, as opposed to closed.

Where the lines come together it appears a little chaotic, I would try joining them better and being careful to blend the transition without open ends. This causes the eye to get confused and you cannot see the illustration as a whole, but rather a lot of lines going in random places.

Hopefully this would be a start.

I have a couple of suggestions.
1: I would leave the wings as just the frame eg. no colour fill (looks cooler this way)
2: Try different placements of the '1818', I think it would look better if it were between the 2 wings. Plus there are lots of options for the number 1818 maybe put two smaller 1s on top of each other with a larger 8 next to them or vice versa.

    Good Luck

My suggestion is to make it more easy to understand, make it in strict shape, but don't loose the aerodynamic lines, and maybe the 1818 should be placed below the drawing, with futuristic font.
