Winning design #12 by notsu100, Banner Design for Open Channel Contest
Gold Medal

designed by notsu100

Project description

Open Channel is a filmmaking resource centre that runs events, training etc related to filmmaking. www.openchannel.org.au - We have a 'push up banner' we use at our events with a graphic of our old building (attached as open_channel_banner_D2.pdf). However we have now relocated and now need a redesign with a graphic of our new premises,we are in the lowset demountable buildings in the foreground of the attached DSC_2510.jpg image but part of the broader Docklands studios complex. The new design doesn't need to be strictly tied to the old design, i.e. illustrated style, with film making elements, but something similar would be okay too. comment from one staffer after seeing first 10 designs: "I would ask designers to feel free to do some graphics of cameras or other filmmaking symbols instead of the photos. They are all very similar, it would be nice to see something completely different to see what their creative minds can come up with!" Also we just realised the designs have our old contact details, so will work with the winning design to make sure they are correct! (No need to re'do an existing entry though with the new details). Also the Film Victoria logo has been updated. So attached to this brief. New contact details are (for anyone doing a new entry): Open Channel Co-operative Limited Docklands Studios Melbourne 476 Docklands Drive Docklands, Victoria, 3008 T: +61 3 8327 2016 (Reception) F: +61 3 8672 3335 (Reception) W: www.openchannel.org.au

  • About #1 Hi training, I have submitted my first entry. I took your old banner and change the image of your location to your new one. I kinda kept it the same but more less I just tried to give it a fresh modern update. I changed the top part to be more pleasing and gave it some flare with your slogan. I seen in the image your logo had the name underneath the open "C" shape...so I made the logo on the top look more like how it was in the picture and I also made it larger. Now with the bottom I kept it mainly the same but I did center everything to the middle of the banner and then I lined up the wording " Learn / Hire / Make " to your slogan at the top. Then behind the whole design I add a subtle line fade on both the top and bottom. I hope you like the design and if you would like to see anything changed just let me know. Feedback and Rating are Welcomed & Appreciated! Thanks, Squewheet

  • Greetings CH I have a banner made in the landscape position. Well, I hope it is not a problem, this is a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop, but I'm open to other variants. I watched in advance how it looks on your site, I am open to different overall look, so I avoided portrait position, I think it is better on the site, but I'm not sure. # 14, # 15, # 16 and # 17 Sincerely, krisdesign P. S. And boys and girls follow the exact path the roof of the building.
    • #14,#15,#16 and #17 landscape banner, thanks, krisdesign

  • GJR
Your design: http://www.designcontest.com/banner-design/open-channel/entry/8/ is too similar to entry #6.
  • Thanks for entry, heres some feedback from one of our staff, I think most of them have the "Learn Make Hire" text too big - I like the way #6 puts "Learn Make Hire" along the bottom with "Providing Pathways…" more prominent. I think the best design would be #6 with a clean white background rather than the texture.
    • Thanks for the feedback. I uploaded new design #12, where I made some modifications based on the design #6. White background, new information and modified logo at the bottom. I also made "Learn Make Hire" little bit smaller compared to the design #6 which you already liked if I understood correctly? But I made those words smaller so you can have a comparison which is better. Please have a look at design #12 and let me know if you need any changes. Maybe emphasize or highlight something etc.

  • thanks for your entry, sun is nice touch and original but the colours a bit too contrasty, gawdy, thank you
