Project description

We are commissioning new portraits of Joseph Haydn, an important composer of western classical music.

You can read about him on wikipedia here, and see what he looked like according to contemporary portraits by Hardy and Hoppner (google image search results here).

Our website is here: http://www.haydnenthusiasts.org/about.html

We are looking for a view of Haydn that is modern and playful. Geometric shapes (triangles, circles, hexagons) encouraged.

UPDATE: looking for portraits more than caricatures/cartoons.

Comments

  • my work is based on creating the portrait with the points.
First of all,I have to explain that this work is not finished. the weather was very limited and I'm trying to finish my work.
in the sense that I'm using points and squares with different sizes with.
using points and squares gives us this possibility to create a moving image. in the sense that you want to use this image for your site. therefore we can create a "GIF" image or a short video that shows the points and squares with different sizes and different colors that move and create the portrait.

  • About #94, @halimpu_art
I'm glad you like this design. Ok, I try to fix according to your suggestion. Thanks
  • About #67, @halimpu_art, I like this idea, but can you try it with a brighter color palette and a happier expression?
    • @jsundram I'm glad you like this design. Ok, I try to fix according to your suggestion. Thanks

  • It looks like the engraving of haydn with some groovy patterns superimposed on it -- we're really looking for an original-looking image.

Maybe if these were more seamlessly combined?
  • Interesting idea -- can you make the figure clearer? it looks kind of faint.
  • I like the ideas here -- would this work with multiple colors (rather than various shades of a single color)?
  • Hi, we are really looking for portrait-style images of Haydn where he looks happy and amused.
  • I love the ideas/variations here -- is it possible to have the color / detail inside the figure (foreground) rather than background?
  • I'd like something on a plain background, with more detail int he portrait and a richer/deeper color palette
  • I think the hand signal is pretty funny, although the shape the fingers make looks bit awkward. I made some comments on your next treatment. :)
