Hello everyone and welcome. In this contest you will develope a heroic comic character. The character should somehow relate to the graphics/multimedia world. For an extra challenge let's pretend this design is for a print job and there is a limit of how many colors you are able to use. Let's try to make these entries have only 5 colors. The contest will end in 3 weeks on the 19th of February. Feel free to post any questions you may have. Goodluck and have fun!

Deadline: 2.19.05

P.S This doesn't have to be related to designcontest.com (aka the logo), it can be, if you want...

Hi aE-Coma, 5 colours as 5 spot colours? can an entry be a CMYK (full colour mode)?
Thanks.

So for my first contest...I guess I'll be the first to post. Just an extremely rough draft, saw the contest, got the idea in a snap so I thought I'd put him up and develop him further. No name yet (I guess you could apply anything simple - i.e. Multimedia Man or Designer Dude, etc) as he flies through media files with his trusty tablet/shield and pen/sword (?).

Eh...I'm a night owl, so instead of going to bed, I'm developing my hero.

Tic-tac-toe, three posts in a row (is this illegal under DC rules?) Anyway, he's now actually undergone the pen tool treatment and I will be updating him more, but this is it for now, I'm hittin' the sack.

Thanks, what do you think is off, if you could pin-point something, I could move it around. I'll try on my own but any further comments would be great.

EDIT: I see what's off, at least, some of what's off. I'm working on it.

From now on, I will just be modifying this post when I update since this will be the core structure of the final version. So here's what I have...

EDIT: Final!

P.S. - He's clickable.

Wow, nice. I tend to draw anime. I wonder if I'll have time to enter, though, it has been a long time since I CGed.

Thank you very much. I'm in a small bind with his shading, but I'll try and work it out.

Do the 5 colors we're allowed to use include black and white?

I think in this case it is 5 colors plus white (the absence of color). Correct me if I'm wrong though, but I believe you can choose to make the five colors whatever you'd like.
BAM! I'm here, are you?

Yah, I guess I'm a bit rusty on the the whole printing area of design...Anyhow let's not make things complicated...Don't worry about spot colours, just 5 colours! And geek if you want to do spot colors feel free to do that. :D
