120x60 is a common size for web ad banners. My question, rinaldidesigns is may we make the 468x60 (the larger banner type ad)? Thanks, I hope I get time to enter :)
You MUST be an Elite Designer to enter the contests. Please go to www.designcontest.net and follow the link that says "Love to Design" to get more information and the requirements for joining. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Readability all depends on which font you use and also size and color. Just test fonts on which size is the minimum size till you can't read it. Allot are about 6 or 7 pt. There are some exclusion also you can set sharp and smooth in photoshop to help some other fonts to become even smaller.

"I am not afraid of competition!"

So there are no problem with if it is not readable.

I guess we can use any of the standard banner sizes, but would you really want to place a 468x60 banner on your portfolio website or in your blog?

consider it a challenge :)

but to be serious, there is a number of ways to fit this text into the given dimentions. Animation is one of them.

Nice idea bunker, cause the contest says you may use jpg, gif or flash and gif and flash both support animations. So its shouldn't be hard to make the banner special. And fit the text better too.

For people who don't have flash but do have photoshop. Photoshop and Image ready support gif and swf export.
