Here is something I just made. I have been trying to figure out how to make this design for a while and finally managed to build it. Too bad it is patented by Burgopak so I can't sell this design. However I can make some cool design with it for some school projects.

wow, I have no idea how you made this!
It really sucks to learn that an idea you have developed yourself has been already patented :( But still you did a great job!

Wow, that could be used as a very creative addition for a number of different designs! Well done for figuring that out!
Now I want to solve the "mystery" too but I'm not sure I'll do that as successfully as you :)

I am going to produce it for myself to give away how ever I am not selling it otherwise I would be doing something illegal cause of that patent. Actually need to look into the patent if that there is an existing patent that is made years before burgopak than I can easily go on mass production hehe. If it is bases on a paper popup toy I might have a chance to produce it because them the patent is not legally secure.

But for now got slight problem with too much space lol. Cause with this design I got 3 times the space of a businesscard. I got the from all figured out to have 2 for animation purposes and 1 for all the info. Now got 3 open spaces on the back too fill. Not quite sure what to do with them.

Any suggestions? Leave open? Fill with some work or logo's? Fill with cool design? Expanding panorama of where I live?

Nice work, maybe you can train people (charities)... and use other things with that innovation..and they can earn from it. Just a suggestion :)

Anyways, it's real a witty work.

This article has some great ideas that you might use for all the extra space: http://www.ideabook....iness_card.html

i would use the back for some kind of basic animation, try to get some inspiration from childrens books or why not make the text on the card only readable when its open? like an encryprion key?

Thanks from me too Nancy, those are pretty useful articles.

Kombetar, I don't think that a designer's business card should be practical. Actually, I think that some showing off of the designer's creativity and skills via his/her business card is much better than a standard business card.

Hmm not really impressed though because really would had thrown that away before I remember you could open it. Also not really that to design that card. Also would been better if there was a small tutorial on the outside to remember the reciever to open the card.

I think it works really well for that magazine, but that's the end of it. You won't use this design for other projects now.

As for Chung Dha's Burgopak, it's pretty much universal.

I guess I should have posted that link in another thread. I didn't mean it as an alternative to Burgopak's innovation! I was simply inspired by the cleverness of the Bracket card too. http://www.burgopak.com/ 's are far more appropriate for a broad spectrum of uses, I agree! Just look at all their packaging! http://www.burgopak....007_english.pdf
Amazing!

I wonder how much it would cost to buy off the patent though, must be a fortune cause they bought one for world wide. There must be a pop up book somewhere with the same mechanism, cause that inspired them. If i just could find it existed for years before theymade it, I could do more stuff with this design.
