Im just trying to master using Illustrator for cartooning and more conventional drawings so I just did this for practice. Along with the AI illustration is the original pencil drawing for comparison. I still have much left to do but here it is so far.

great work! I love this style! And you know both how to draw and how to use vector, sorry I don't have any constructive input, just want to say keep up the good work!

Nice work!
my advice would be to be more adventurous in terms of colours, because right now it looks pale and seems to lack contrast (if he was meant to be pale, then maybe the nose should be more red)
..and also i'm not sure the part between the nose and the teeth works so well

really good job so far, keep it up :)

Wow - I really like the style! I love the facial hair. Really nice.

I do agree about being more adventurous about the color, though. Maybe add some purple or blue on some edges to indicate heavy shadow - I think that would really make it pop. Still though - really great!

I liked it a lot. I would like to see with just one tooth, as the original... Why did you change.I am trying to do something like that also for my portfolio, but not that cartoonish. You did excellent for an exercise!

I think the full set of teeth is better. I still think it'd be cool to see some more color in the shadows, though (some purples or blues) or maybe some color on the hat as highlights

Nice job :)

Looks like you've changed the colors but left all your previous shading the same. I don't think that will work. Why not move the lantern to the upper right? Then you can keep the old shading.

I'm for the whole set of teeth too, one tooth seems kindof cliché..
very nice improvements.. and trying out all sorts of colour schemes and lighting is definitely the way to go

good job

I like lighting effect - I agree with redum about changing the light source, though. I still think it'd be cool to see slivers of analogous colors in the darkest shadows. I'm being annoying, aren't I?

This is definitely turning out to be a great piece!

Great Job!
You are just missing the top of the hat. Put some highlights there also.
I can't wait to see your final work.

depending on where the light source is, you don't need highlights on the top of the hat. I like it faint/implied.
