Im wanting to make a text template & insert a photo into the text only... I have no clue how to go about this.. can anyone help me?? Thanks

select picture then go to > effects > power clip > place inside container > select text. The picture will be placed inside your text, auto centered by default. You can edit contents then (right click on the text) and move the image (then finish the editing object)

First change the Text into Curves
then

select picture then go to > effects > power clip > place inside container > select text.

The picture will be placed inside your text, than make edit and select right position for the image (then finish the editing object)

Drag the picture over the text with your mouse right botton. When you release, there will show pop-up that you can choose power clip inside. You still can edit the picture by right cliking the text and choose edit power clip.

u will have to convert text to curves first!

no, you will not have to convert the text to curves - it works anyway, you can even change the font with the image inside
