it is impossible to install Corel file in Illustrator, because it is not supported. EPS can only preserve the core at the Export option, because the EPS file much easier, much faster, more efficient and easy to change, less occupied, and converts the text and image, and all the blame, and are easy to change.

Normally it will report an error, because it is not supported, so using EPS, because you know this past system very much!

And Yes, you are allright-sometime is the best colors from Corel than Illustrator, I like that! So, just save your work from corel as EPS and in Illustrator change RGB mode on File-New document you have a mode of colors too.

Hello There,

Select you object the export (ctrl + E). Choose *.AI. It will pop up a window. DO NOT CLICK OK!!!!!!
1. Choose Compatibility with Adobe Illustrator which you have (CS3 and above to maintain affects and colors)
2. If you choose TEXT your text will remain as text, but it you choose CURVE your text will not be editable.
3. Choose convert spot colors to CMYK
4. the rest it has choose by itself.

NOW CLICK OK, and check your AI. Every thing is in this widows.

NOTE: If you export to EPS, surely, something you did in CorelDraw will LOOSE!

Another way:
Select your object. Export it to *SVGZ or SVG --> then open or drag into AI.
For me this is the best that keep good look for the object.
These kinds of files are still open in CorelDraw.

Note for open it in CorelDraw: after open or import the object will be lock. Go to Arrange and click on UNLOCK OBJECT. Now you can work with it.
