Backlighting shots are shots taken of the subject with the sun or source of light behind it. Here are some useful backlighting tips:
.The best time for shooting backlit pictures is early in the morning when the sun rises or late in the evening as the sun is about to set.
.When you meter for backlit pictures, you have to use spot metering and then meter off of the subject for the right exposure.
.Don’t worry about over exposing you background in thus type of photography.
.Try to use a reflector for bouncing some light back onto the subject.
.You can eliminate the sun flare by placing the subject in front of anything that softens the bright light, or you try to embrace the sun flare and then use it for adding a different element to the picture.
