I've just a newbie to logo design, but I found this interesting graphic of colors and emotions. I like the fact they chose orange for Hooters...

Funny :D "peaceful (green) with Monster logo witch mean on arab 666 i think and 666 - mean devil everyting but no peacful :)

I'm sure there are exceptions to the above 'rules'. I wouldn't say Yahoo is creative nor wise.

Interesting chart. Colors also have negative meanings associated with them. Example for red, it can mean 'excitement', but it can also mean 'anger'. Colors can also have separate meanings/symbolism for different cultures

Colors really can provoke emotions, actually I read about psychology behind colors and its helpful at times.

Interesting attachment but I must admit that I am one of those people who don't search any deeper meaning from the colors of logos. The reason is I have read different psychological researches and different opinions about "the meaning of colors" in advertisements and especially in logos. And if I need to summarize what different colors are symbolizing then it is just a mess. Of course there are some certain obvious principles that designer have to know about colors, but to search very deep meaning from the colors...I don't know, it depend on so many circumstances.
