i am still liking the purple and white. try using those 3 lines inplace of the E. looks like you tried to pack alot in there, not bad though, maybe 3 lines to close to the p. I would try DESIGN little smaller. Did you try design in lower case too? cool

I think this latest version has improved since the first version in term of alignment and spacing with the type. The only thing I'm not too keen on is how the p breaks out of the box. It's interesting for the i to do so, but I don't see the reason why the p should.

I prefer the newest approach, however what about tweaking that version to make the D branch off the extended letter "P"? Perhaps that would tie it all together nicely.

I would agree that the previous iteration of the logo (with the "a") is a bit busy, while visually enticing there is just too much going on for it to function well as a logo, IMO.
