Hi all.

This was an entry to the vB forum skin contest. I was told the quality fell far short compared to the other entries.

I don't agree with that assessment of course, but to each his own. Could I get some opinions or thoughts as to where I could improve it? 'tis my first skin attempt.

Thanks. ALL comments welcome.

Hey oTTo,

I'm glad you've started this thread, cos I wanted to say I quite like your bold design but we weren't allow to discuss entries in the contest forum.

You've taken a less decorative approach compare to most other entries, which I appreciate very much personally, I like the way you use those markers on the top right hand corner, it suggests "graphic design" and "creativity" explicitly. The drop shadow effect on the header, stats area and sponsor ad give your design some depth, but suppressed the menu button, which is no good. I'm not sure about the extensive use of border lines in the contest forum, and you haven't kept the consistancy through out the content area, forum titles are not aligned, and finally the colour, it can get quite boring if you choose to work with variation of one colour over such wide area. Overall, I feel your entry attempts to communicate more then just decorating, good work oTTo, well that's my opinion anyway.
