How do you market yourself as a free lance designer? Just wondering where and how to start. What have you found to be the best ways to get your name and work out?

Make lots of friends, always be nice to those friends... When people ask them if they know a designer, they'll com to you.
Building relationships is the key.

Through Networking I believe. Show the public that you offer these services and show them the quality of your work surely they'll just come and once you have proven your side the word of mouth will do the work for you. Goodluck!

Networking! Have a portfolio to direct someone to if they show interest, or might mention they know someone who needs design work done. Also, (for your benefit and to come off as more professional) have a good idea of rates you charge and time estimates for projects.

Putting yourself out there and working with a lot of different people. Some work comes from a lot of unexpected places.

Where is a good place to start freelancing if your only experience with design is in school (college)?
