I have several places listed in my favorites, but just because they are "royalty free" doesn't necessarily mean they are free. My favorite place is IStock.

They cost a dime a piece to download and you can also upload your own photos and/or art work for credits.

I don't understand what you mean. You need to register, then the directions Istock gives you are pretty simple.Ok-thanks.
I knew that they were not free
Just another question. Do I need to highlight the stock photos myself, or do they come as a psd where I can just click?

Getty One is another great place for high quality images - either royalty free (be sure to read the fine print for directions on use) or rights managed (pretty pricey). I personally don't know of anywhere that you can just get a .psd of stock images - you'd always have to open them in your own image editing program to extract what you want from the .jpg.

Here in Russia you can buy tons of jpegs or tiffs on clipart CDs those are really cheap and some of them provide reallynice quality of images. I myself bought a DVD a couple of days ago with 50'000 jpegs which are quite suitable for webdesign. So I guess I am spared from looking for images on stock photos websites

At PictureStation you can find several photos that can fit for your projects. Based on credits, everytime you upload/download affect your credit account. And about the pictures, they state this: "You can do anything you want with our images, EXCEPT CLAIM AUTHORSHIP AND/OR SELL THEM. Check our license agreement."
Enjoy it!
Enjoy it!
