This was my local dive shop when I lived in the States. I've known the owner for years, and he trained me when I was 14. I've never liked the shop's logo, http://www.h2oscuba.com/, and thought I'd design them a new one.

Here's what I have so far, let me know what you think! Thanks guys :)

Bottom one looks good maybe try the letters in blue to keep in the original color sheme.

2nd one is hard to read H20. Maybe bit too fishy.

Top one I have a tip for you, try looking at real bubble and replicate them too make it get just bit more than simple radial gradient.

I did a project last year at University where we had to create a brand image for a company called "H2O". The main problem I had with the logo was integrating the 2 in to the logo, personally I feel you're having the same issue.

What our logo ended up with was the 2 embedded in to the middle of the H and O.

This was it:

I'd feel different to Chung Dha though. I don't like the idea of using something that looks like an actual bubble. I like the computerised simple look, but give both a try and see which you like. People will know its a bubble whichever you go with.

Nowadays web2.0 are quite realistic shines which takes the upper hand to simple gradients.

well that's a matter of personal opinion and taste. I personally prefer simple effects.

It needs a heavier font

& just keep the bubbles simple:

I 100% agree w/ both comments. Especially regarding the font; way too thin.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions everyone. I'm playing with realistic and stylistic bubbles :), and looking into new fonts. I'll post revisions in a bit. Thanks again for the comments.

I feel all the concepts are not bold enough and nothing in the design seems memorable to me, which is to say that I probably won't be abe to remember this logo if I saw it again tomorrow on some advertisement or product. Maybe you could make the font bolder and try to create a simple and easy to remember form with the letters.

I for one agree with the idea of at least experimenting with a simple stylized bubble (if indeed you end up using bubbles). While your friend with the shop has a nice website, he may find a simple and easily reproducible logo would benefit him more than the faux 3d web2.0 look.

Anxious to see further revisions or new concepts, you simply can't leave your friend's logo as it is! :(

The first concept, I feel, could definately work..

It's got the right feel and you've nailed it with the shade of blue. Just change Scuba from red to black. Maybe make the font a bit bolder, I think you've got a pretty good logo =]

Build on what you've got!

Hey guys,

Here are some very quick revisions - I had to put this logo on the backburner because of other projects. I'm still not sure which direction I like, at first I was definitely leaning towards the more realistic look, but I'm finding I like the stylized bubbles. Only thing I'm worried about is that they look a bit too cartoonish, however, it is something the owner of the shop would probably like

I still want to explore more options with fonts, because I feel they're not quite there yet either. But the suggestions on bolder fonts really made a difference, thanks guys!

This second round is looking much better!
I like that the bottom row is nice and bold, the logo is stylized and fun.
The top row, specifically the first or second logo seems to have the best composition with regards to the H20 symbol -maybe a bit too light/faint though, they are less dynamic than the bottom row but I think they also communicate the 'H20' idea a little more clearly.

MUCH CLOSER! :)

Recently, I have came across many services/products
which come up with H2O brand name,
so if you can emphasis Scuba & then intergrated with
ur new concept for H2O...will make better statement.

i think "ADD" is right. you should try to incorporate some scuba thing with this good concept. but do not let your current design go away.
