How long has this design been used? I havent been here that long, but for as long as Ive been here, its been the same style and design.

Maybe if its been like this for a while, you could do a little gathering of money (im willing to contribute) to get the site redesigned. Would be nice 2 get a big contest running, and would be something for us all to do :D

just an idea

This design was the winner of the contest that we held about 6 months ago. Unfortunately it did not turn out as well as it was proposed.

I personally would like to redevelop the website, but I think it would not be in our best interests to run another contest for it. It would be much better suited for myself, the moderators and some select design team members to work together on creating a new website.

Anyways, thats what I think. It has been a hectic time of year for the admins and moderators of the site, so you will just have to hang tight until we get things sorted out :)

If you ever get around to it, I'm also in for it :D

I think there are interesting things to be done by customizing forum code...

Here's my idea for a forum extension...you would add a new post type called "Contest." This would have several unique features:

1) Before it became visible on the forum, it would have to be approved by an administrator.
2) The user would be given all of the temp-holding of money information and other rules needed to submit a contest above the post box. The entry form would also have required fields like Due Date and Amount for Contest (with Non-Cash prize as an option for that forum)
3) After the initial writeup, there would be two kinds of posts people could make. Designers (of Design Team only or otherwise) could add "Entry" posts in which they upload or link to a single image and write out a brief description. Contest holders could make "feedback" posts that would thumbnail (with GDlib or other) each design and allow them to make comments on each, which would then be posted.
4) A "choose winner" screen that would put up each entry from the contest together, and they would simply select which one they want and type up a brief congratulations note. This could alternatively have the Tiered "second and third" selections as well if you decide to implement those features. At this point the admin and winner would be automatically notified by e-mail and, after the file transaction takes place, the winner would be paid.

I think this would be great to have, and it would make DesignContest.net a totally unique site offering competitive advantage in ease-of-use over other contest forums. Just my thoughts anyways :D

I'd be happy to work on coding this for you...in fact, I'd be happy to become a member of the high-level staff here at DC :)

Oh, I'm in a redesign for sure, that would be fun:D Especially working in the already volunteered company...oh goodie, I'm already excited:)

As you mentioned, and as I'm sure we're all aware...you are very busy...

So how about you establish a redesign team, and you could be kind of like an overseer, approving and dissaproving of things we come up with, and guiding our redesign?
