I have a problem with Photoshop. I reinstalled my machine after a harddisk crash and so reinstalled creative suite premium again. Problem now is that i don't seem to be able to preview the icons in winexplorer, all i get is the regular .psd icon and it's pretty frustrating if you have a lot of psd files.

I tried to solve this in a lot of ways, reinstalling with boots between them, deleting all the setup files manually, icon preferences (where there should be a photoshop image tab, but there isn't), added %1 on icon properties in register etc etc. Nothing solved it so far.. maybe one of you guys knows the solution? It's running on winXPPro/sp1.

I wasnt around last weeks but to answer your question, Adobe Phothosop CS no longer support thumbnail icons. If you check your Photoshop's ReadMe file you will read:

Thumbnail Icons for .psd files
Photoshop CS no longer provides thumbnail icons of .psd files through operating system folder windows. Please use the File Browser to view your .psd thumbnail files.

Yeah i know sucks but is true. :(

what a big fat bummer.. but i had it working a while ago, with CS & XP. I read a part with a ps7 dll file and some registry edits, if i find a solution i'll post it here, if anyone else already found a solution, please share it with us.

I highly doubted that while having CS you were able to see thumbnails. Anyway, i read somewhere the same fix as you, but i remember that only worked on Photoshop 7 users that upgraded to CS. Best chances to find the fix, is using its majesty: Google.

my photoshops messed too every time i cut an object it fades the line rather then cutting it clean. kinda like how anti-aliased or w.e works but its not selected when i do that. it just does it on its own. right annoying.

Usually if you cut an object and it fades, thats because u got a value on the feather option. Set to zero and thats all you need to fix it. It got nothing to do with anti-aliased option.

Lol so this is how quality tools get a bad name ;)

Still haven't found a solution for the thumbnail preview, iam just using the psd browser now. It's not the best but.. well maybe they'll have an update for it in next photoshop versions cause i assume iam not the only one disliking this new 'feature'.

Found this article to help with those thumbnail problems. Basically you donwload a DLL and drop it into a folder and thats all she wrote.
