Sergey,

I have a few questions before I go through with my idea....

1. Can we use gradients of the colors we choose? Most printers that use spot colors are fine with grades because they just adjust the amount of ink they use.

2. Have you considered using CafePress or Zazzle for your t-shirts? If you use either service, you can:
a) Use any colors you want
b) Design a front and back (within the spaces provided by either service)
c) Set up a link on the main site to sell the shirts (these guys print them on demand and ship from there -- no inventory for you!)
d) Earn a commission from each T-shirt sold, which in turn profits DC.net
e) Save some moola (I think both services charge a small fee to set up a "store" from which DCer's can buy the shirts...it's been a while since I looked at the fees)

Anyway, just want to be sure you knew about these options ...

Thanks,
Jess

Thank you for the information! Yes, I have had a look at cafepress. The matter is that the printer I have in mind has offered a better price, but still you made me think...

You know, what we are going to do? We are going to pick two winners
1. for 1-2 colors one side. I will print it myself and use as t-shirts as prizes in the Community Contests forum
2. for multicolor and doublesides. this design will be set for sale at cafepress

The prize t-shirt will be sent however to the winner in 1 color category.

Jess, thanks for the info once again!

/sergey

P.S. to be honest I do not know how screenprinting deals with gradient, I need to ask the printer...

Awesome! I love the idea of having two different t-shirts, and I think it's great that you will get commissions for DC.net from Cafe Press. I can't wait to work on my designs tomorrow...

malbar,

Do you have any idea how much it would cost to print and produce the t-shirt you designed? I don't even think you could screen print something like that the side panels would have to be sewn custom.

OTHERWISE it is a really slick design.

yes, i have exact idea how much cost those full screen design , because i´m designing for some wear companies :) Perhaps if competitor need something simpliest, then let give meknow here and i can try prepare something much more easy.... anyway it is not problem print those designs here in czech republic :) , then i think so it were be not a problem in rest of the world :)
