What tablet do you use? Some time ago I used a Genius 8 by 6 inches and it was a little bit small...

I use an Intuos2 6 x 8.

I actually like the 8 x 8 size best - I had a larger tablet, but it was way larger than I needed.

how did you sketched this? I mean with your own imagination or from a photo... whatever it is ... its really awesome work...

haha - I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a photo of a viking standing on top a pile of corpses!

For the very first sketch, I just drew the viking standing on a big mass. Then I added some rough details. Then I went back over it and drew key figures in the pile. I scanned it then traced it in Illustrator. I added the rest of the details/extra figures straight into illustrator.
