Attention Designers!
With a new version of the DesignContest.net website on its way, we need your help! The new site will contain a large header graphic (850px x 100px) and we want YOU to design it.
Rules for this contest are as follows:
1) You must use the supplied logo and header template when designing
2) You may only use photos/illustrations that you have the rights to use
3) The supplied logo only includes our "DC" symbol. You must be creative and supply the text "DesignContest.net".
4) The logo/DC.net text must be positioned to the left of the header (for usability reasons)
How to participate:
1) Download the following zip file: http://www.designcon...m/DC_Header.zip
This contains the header template in PSD format and a greyscale of our logo in EPS format. Please Note: Because I am using a Mac, Windows users may find files with an underscore(_) in front of them. Do not use these files.
2) Design a header concept that includes our logo, site name (DesignContest.net) and a design of your choice.
3) Submit a link to your header concept in this thread.
The top 5 designers will have their work displayed on the DesignContest.net website at random. The designers name & portfolio url will also be included.
The top 2 designers wll receive either:
a) a membership to the design team if he/she is not already a member or,
b) a promotion to the next level if he/she is already a member
Have fun and be creative! Deadline for this contest is November 15, 2005.

Should we use the phrase "Way to design" which is in the present header or just stay with the logo and the name?

Hey guys, good job so far. The new website design will not be looking anything like the current design or the current forum design. It will be a lot brighter looking, and the brown/green colour scheme has disappeared. Do not use the "way to design" phrase either.
I hope to see some more excellent entries soon.
Thanks,
John

Wow:)...sounds fun:) I love all the entries...better get busy....should we use a particular colors???? Can we add our own tag line? (instead of "way to design")??
Add your own colours, add illustrations, photos, whatever you like, however no tagline should be used.

Hey everyone, looking good.
I just want to clear a couple things up. First I apologize profusely for my original mistake, the logo should be aligned to the left not the right (I typed the original message too quickly ) With that said I am not minding having the logo on the right -- so feel free to leave it there, as you have done a good job giving it proper attention.
Second, I really like the direction that grimsqueaker has taken the header in their second entry. This is the type of entry we are looking for -- something artistic-like. Take the provided template and use it as a blank canvas to be creative.
Also, there will be no spot for a banner. This will be going on the main website (http://designcontest.com) not the forums.
Thanks again everyone!
