A magazine is a great idea!
At HOWDesign.com they do something called a 'howiezine'. There is a different theme every time, and the designers submit art under that. It's a different set up then this magazine, but a theme might still be something to consider. Here is the link for that:link
If not for the whole magazine, maybe several themes for different submissions, or something like that.
Anyways, let me know if I can help at all.

Hi,
I could help in quite a few ways....I'm most interested in the layout/design....but you probably have most of that together already. I could help in other ways too; I wouldn't mind doing some of the research (finding articles and other things of interest) Marketing is also something I can do. I understand how to spot trends, and find buttons for promoting. If you want you can pm me.
-surprised more people aren't talking about this!

Ok, so where do people send the contribution?
1. Is there one email address or they post attachments here?
2. Should the articles of contributions sent to the Editors directly?
Just curious to know how are we organising ourselves

I think it could be useful and intresting topic for magazine if designers post tips about the creative process, since we recieve the brief, until the moment when we finally work on final art.
Brief - information - brain storming - finding codes of communications - resources - sketch - final art - etc.
Each graphic designer has his own way to work, would be nice to share - to improve.
