Right now I work for a special events company, and most of my duties are designing the information / entry brochures, logos for the various events, and keeping the website up to date. I also designed the web site. I do have to do other stuff (not enough people to dedicate me JUST to designing) but for the most part I'm designing, and trying to keep my desk from getting TOO messy with all the print tests and such cluttering it up, heh.

Same here lil_azrael; I am waiting to get accepted to the design team.
I'm a full time graphic designer. I didn't do much freelance work. I did some free work for friends, but nothing more. I am relatively new to the business.
Can't wait to be part of the team!!

I wish I could say that I was a full-time designer but not yet! I also wish I could do more freelancing but I work full-time, go to school part-time, and pick up design jobs here and there to supplement my income and stimulate my creativeness. Now...if I could only win the lottery and pay off some of this debt I'd be all set!

I did construction for 12 years before I started designing for real I had PS 3 back years ago and used to play around. a year ago I made a yin and yang for my kung fu teacher and one of my fellow students saw it and said her husband worked in design for website and such and needed some help. here I am 1 year later still designing (thank god for getting me out of the hot sun) and still learning I used to think all these boards were just a bunch of kids talkin about whatever. now I know that they are the most helpful thing for any new designer.

Pufffff a lot of really great Designers working here or trying to get a place a in the Design Team, best of lucks for you all, I’m tiring to get in so I have more chances to be a full time free lancer.
I always used PC because I like to have the thing open and trying things in it… but I’m thinking to get a Mac and see how it works.

I'm working in DTP/design since 1997 at 2 different companies. I like freelance work also 'coz keeps me fresh. In the past 4 years i did prepress work for large format printing, and worked with large format printing machines.
It would be a great thing to become a full time freelancer finaly, being my boss after 10 years of hardworking for others.

Being in college, i find myself in the freelance part of being a graphic designer right now. I used to be a graphic designer for a t-shirt company near where i lived, but i was being paid under the NJ wage. The company wasnt doing so well money wise as well. I had to leave them shortly (2 months to be exact) after joining. Since then its been rather hard getting a full-time, or even part-time graphic designing job.
