For logos and Illustration, Adobe Illustrator is more suitable, while for book or magazine formatting(or other things that include a lot of text), I find Corel Draw to be optimum. Even though latest version of Illustrator has everything Corel Draw has, I prefer Corel for some things because they were easier in Corel a while back and I got used to them.

Illustrator is the one to go. Slowly Corel designers are moving over to AI aswell. CorelDraw is not available for Mac anymore since version 12 so this is also an important factor not to use it. :)

Both programs are now full of features and both programs are good to work with.
The matter is NOT which one is better than the other: it's all about what suits you best.

(this reminds me the all-times-classic "Mac or PC"...) :D

There are some things that are related to Corel Corel can do a lot of things say that Illustrator can not-complete preparation of printed products precise method of work in CMYK (under these imply the cut, leaving in the correct unit of measure, setting the margin at the same level paper cutting, aligning objects in an imaginary path, copying facilities ...)

Illustrator has similar advantages. Lately, he's well-manipulated only with RGB color mode color, which pose a big variation in the pre-press in CMYK. When compared to both programs are huge differences in a given color as a pattern, color shades and intensity of colors.

Corel with a third party and is perfect for 3D modeling. He has given the certain transformation and 3D appearance of an object be it in perspective, protrusion ... plus can be controlled by his perspective as a designer mapped out, while in Illustrator can not.

HI all.

I am ahaving a good command on Adobe Photoshop. But currently, I want to learn either AI or Coral Draw for creating book covers, Logoz,  etc. So, I want to know that which is better and why.

And I also want your helpfull duggestion for- If I refer to use AI then, are the tools and their use same in Photoshop and AI?

Please help me in selecting the better among the two.
