what about even going as far as a photography contest where you edit the photo to fit a certain concept and mood.
I like this idea, and maybe we don't even need to edit the photos to fit a certain mood. It might be more challenging to keep the photos unedited!

this is an excellent feature to add to DC!!! =D and it seems there is quite a number who are interested! and i know lots more will be interested too!
it will give DC a branch out - and it will promote DC on a much more broader level of audience, who could be possible CH's too! =D

I have been entering a photo contest for years.
It is is called "the everyman"
The Everyman Photo Contest - 2007 Contest Results
I love the way the way this contest is set up.
It is not alot of prize money, but doesn't really matter.
I don't know why i am telling everyone.
Because it is starting to grow out of control
and that makes it much harder each year
2004-I got honorable mention for Black&White category
2005-missed it unfortunately
2006-one of the best titles award
2007-one of the best titles award
Each year u can only enter two photos.
Which makes it almost impossible to choose
I think i waited 2 days before the deadline
I just couldn't decide.
This year i thought i had a shot with the funny title.
I wonder if having a funny title hurts your chances of winning best pic?
I will keep trying for best title i guess
Take some time to look at this site.
There are some really nice photos
I love this contest
I'll need to check it out

I too would love the ability to use my Photo skills, however I would not want this site to turn into a photo contest site. There is a time and place for all and tis is a design site. IMO
hmmm ... that is a tuffy -- DC is after all a design site by origin and default =)
what else are the feedback of other DC peeps out there? =D
