Ok, I just finished doing this new layout for my site, and I would like everyones opinions.

Comparing the two, which one would you rather visit again? Someone told me the new one looks to childish.. but I really like the look of it. Its bright, colorful and the icons I drew look really good.

rtbenson.. could you maybe explain why it looks cheap? To me it looks almost cartoony, which is the look I was going for, I dont see how it could look cheap.
This is exactly what I am after.. the old layout just seems boring to me.

the new one actually looks more interesting and makes me want to see more, it defiantly stands out more.

The colours are great, I see you are trying to make the icons stand out by applying colour tones/gradients to them, I'd suggest not to use black solid outlines in your icons and graphics, because black is a colour that has a lot of weight and black lines flatten your colourful icons, hence the childish look I guess.

Thanks, I changed the outlines to a lighter grey color, and it looks much better now (the changes arent on the net yet though)

I decided to go ahead and use the new layout.. in the end I still like it better.. and well its my website
It seemed that the people I asked about the two layouts were all split on who liked what, so I had to make the decision myself. Anyways, you can see the almost final version on my website now.

I agree 100%, it's your persona site so go with what you like. New one does look awesome, it's easier to get used to with content.

Ur new layout is sweeet simple graphical and bold and it didnt even take a while to load on a shit 56kps connection lol. i like it. what did u use to make it???????????????

Onvx: I do have a template I made that inspired this new layout.. but I dont think I want to release it anymore, it looks to similar.
