Hey Shane, don't you think you might be selling yourself just a little short?

When you start selling things for less than $5, people will only expect to see that from you. Clients who only pay $5 now, will only want to pay $5 for something else in the future.

Also, when you only charge $5 for something.. you are telling people that your work is only worth $5. I am sure your work is worth more than that.

The price of a design always reflects upon the quality of a design.

Just something to think about...

Well, if your reason for doin' this is only to make a portfolio with some works, you better do that for free - 5$ only can cause the problems to others. Really, really, think twice about that.

first off, decide what you wanna do. You're giving mixed messages as to what it is you are doing.
second, I'd learn how to design and get some experience under my belt before I start trying to build a client base. I'm sure you and buddies think this is a cool way to get some fast cash. But honestly, I would never buy anything from you because your site screams "15 year olds without a business license"
I think it's flattering that so many young kids make this 'pseudo-businesses' but you need to understand alot more goes into it then just saying you're a business and offering super low prices.

First of all, the logo you presented us with is just the Glee Club font (or a similar one) with brown hair on top of it. Try creating unique designs. I did the same thing a while back, and it didn't go over well. Sometimes using fonts or dings in the design can be good, but not if it is the whole logo.

Secondly, one rule of a good designer is to not just say "I will do any logo for $5" or whatever. One, that price will not get you anywhere. Two, it makes you sound like an amature. Generally, clients will look at a low price and immediatly think low quality. Each design should have its own unique price depending on the complexity of the design and what is all involved. Because you are not going to want to get the same amount of money for a logo you spent two minutes on as one you spent two days on.

Now, I don't mean to offend you, but it looks like you just started designing. That is not a bad thing, because everyone has to start somewhere, but it doesn't look like you should start out by offering your services. I would practice and maybe try some contests in here, look up tutorials, gain experiece from sites like this, etc..

I started designing 7 years ago. I didn't start offering my services until I knew I could compete with good designers. I started by making my own website. It was actually a fan website for a game I really liked back in the day. Then, I started to design graphics using photoshop after being inspired by some of the great designers out there.

A great site for inspiration is www.deviantart.com

Good luck!

I will have to agree. Even though it is just two circles with gradients on them, it is at least not something that could potentially be copyrighted.

I had a similar logo for my previous design firm site:

(attached below)

Now, try to look at the more professional sites out there (if that is the look you are going for) and try to get some ideas on how to form a more appealing website. Good job so far, it seems you are on the right track.
