Hello,
I'm ohi from Poland :)

I think flat style is best style in webdesign.
It is a pity that so few people designs in this style in DC.

"Flat design is a graphic style that aims to avoid any graphic element providing no significant value to the structure of a template. This type of visual design purely avoid any form of abstract “decorative” elements. Gradients, reliefs, volumes, realistic forms are erased to make room for simple solids.

This is a minimalist visual approach where the design is smooth."

Flat design is nice but it is still a new web trend, even though user interfaces like Win8 have used it for a while. We should start to see more and more of these flat design websites here on DC. It also has to agree with what the CH wants too :)

Thank you for the post I love flat design and I think your work is beautiful, sadly not many CHs prefer that style, maybe things will change as HappyGD said.

The blog here on DesignContest talked about flat design a couple months ago, and it even mentions that CH's might not know much about this trend yet: Trend Alert: What is Flat Design?

People who know the effects of flat design still demand such design
But others feel that it is outdated. In fact it never fades.

I absolutely adore flat design. I have not worked on many projects that utilize this style (unfortunately) but I am working my way into this trend. I think it is clean and organized, lending itself to more timeless designs. Then again, I tend to prefer minimalist design trends. :)

Should we use drop shadow in a flat design?

Not typically. If you were to use a drop shadow I would suggest using a very minimal one with a lower opacity. Or if you want you could go with a style similar to these:

I am in love with flat design. I think its spectacular mostly because its so simple i.e free of all the distractions accompanied by skeuomorphic designs... but it's true it will take some time for most CH's to embrace it

I like flat UI designs cause its lighter, so browser takes shorter time to load, and also pleasing to the eyes, the less the complicated the elements there is in a website, the less stress your eyes will be getting.

So they call it flat. Looks like minimalism. Same thing I guess. I particularly like it.
