I've had this splash for a while. Some ppl here have seen it. Right now I'm in a rut I don't know what want to do with my site but I figured I'd get some feedback on this splash image, ermm... I guess as well as my new logo release:

The reason for dna is because I never have enough time to do it. I'm either to focused on work, freelance... or my site. I'm gonna try to get it up but... if someone wants to do it for me :) LoL, that would be cool. Too bad I'm picky and have to high of expectations.

Looks good, looks real good. curious though, why you split it up into different images (about 20 images for the main image)? my only suggestions would be to animate it a lil bit like you did on the dna page, just to let a user know he's going to a flash site. and perhaps strengthen the edge of the blue area to the bottom right of the metal piece, from about 3 o'clock to 5 o'clock. the softness on that edge there kinda takes away from the whole liquid goo thing goin on. but really, very well done!

I saved the image like that because slicing up a hi-res image speeds up load time, it's easier for the web to process multiple small files than one big file if it's not cached of course. Think of it as when you start to download a big file/application it's alway some crazy speed at the start and progressively gets slower. Well slicing it up like that makes it so it constantly hits that max speed.

I'll take a look into that edge. Although, it's not "goo" it's more of a gasious image (at least in my mind). I'll play with it and see what I come up with.

The simplistik logo in your website reminds me of the CPL gaming logo... Anyhow, it looks very nice.

ahh, good thinkin. as you have only one large image that's a good idea. though i think splitting it into 4 images would be most effective, since dial up users (the one's concerned with speed) can only recieve 4 simutanious downloads, and each image has to store extra bytes like file name, file type, and other little overhead stuff. though, the objective is still to get something on the screen as quickly as possible, and if a user sees one part of an image, they're more likely to stick around for the rest of the image. good call (i usually don't do splash screens, so that didn't come to mind)

Well my intent for the site is for a broadband connection. So if they can't bring up the splash then they prolly shouldn't go into the site either :)

As for the CPL logo comment, heh... I guess you're right. I assure you though my concept was in no way shape or form based or influenced by that. But on the other hand if it's recognizable like that too... good deal, it will prolly stick in the minds of ppl easily.

Yea, I use most forms of IM. Sucks when clients can't just conform to what you want them to :(

Yea unfortunately it's still underconstruction. As I'm limited on time to work on anything extracaricular it sucks :( . Hopefully I'll get it up b4 Q2 of this year though. But if you play CS check us out at:

the splash is very nice, the blue fire tone as the backdrop is sweet, though when it goes to enter it takes me to a blank page, bugga???
