I saw someone else post the banner attached to the designcontest forum layout so I did the same. Just took a screenshot and pasted it under the header I made. Same graphics but I changed the gradient and masks.

resurepus, about that join link, should we add it? Or a logo and designers portfolio link is sufficient enough?

xorMedia, that looks really nice. Just one thing: It looks like you have a movie clip in there, could you cite the source for that please, unless it's your own. Thanks :)

Sure, why not. The whole concept is too feminine, viewer can have an imrpession that this some sort of a beauty care discussion forum^^ Though animation looks interesting. Btw, it's better to make logo on the left than center. IMHO.

Oh, Yes there's a movieclip inside and i think it should be just my work, right ... i will modify it, not to use the movieclip :)

Ok. It's finally done, here's the LINK. You might think it's not animated - but it is^^ And as you see, bottom one is with the register link. Leave some feedback please :)

Great work, Maxon!
The simplicity of the design works really well. It makes me think of the Snake game (the one you used to see on Nokia phones) :)
It's definitely a candidate!

P.S. if you want to work more on it, try playing with the logo a little bit. I am not sure if the "shadow" behind the icon of the logo is needed.

I guess it wasn't. Here's the edited version!

I really like it!
But again tastes differ. And since it is a community contest I would really like to hear thoughts of other users about the change.

I think the grid looks too plain. Love the effect though. Maybe you could play with the initial opacities of each square; make them random or something. Are you adding the squares through code or by hand?

I like the simplicity of this work.
I don't like the color of DesignContest logo...

Maybe you should add more frames (more colors) to that animation so when you move the cursor faster, colors do not repeat.
I guess this is just one MC with animated rollover state, so it won't be so dificult to change? Still, look nice.

I see your point. Maybe i could think of something.

By hand, i guess. It's a couple of copied movieclips, with a little bit of actionscript.

I don't like the color of DesignContest logo...

:( But that's the main color of the forum...

Maybe you should add more frames (more colors) to that animation so when you move the cursor faster, colors do not repeat.

If I add more colors, animation would be much longer... I just thought that 7 main colors of rainbow is enough.

Hey,

Geat idea for a banner definitly origional. May i suggest that you take a print screan of the form and add your banner just so you can show how it interacts/fits with the form its self. Sometimes they might not look as impressive as when it is actually put in place.
