I was browsing the finished contests forum and looking through posts, there is about 5-7 pages in some of them.

Pages and Pages of comments and nothing to do with the competition.

Maybe limiting it to entries only and if any stray posts enter, then someone can report them via pm to moderator and they can be deleted.

But trying to find entries was hard, sometimes there was 1 entrey per page.

Well, that's my suggestion

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt, and welcome to the forum!

In our actual design contest threads, we do not allow comments between designers. The only interaction as far as actual comments are between the contest holder, and the designers that have submitted designs to those comments. Normally, when the threads get off-topic, a moderator or admin. will step in and delete the posts that don't belong, along with notifying the poster that they are not allowed to comment on other's designs within the contest threads. I assure you that we do try to keep up with this as closely as possible, but there are times that comments have gotten by.

Thanks for your suggestions :)

From what i have seen quite a few posts are getting by, i know this is not your fault but i'm sure it also makes it more difficult for the competition holder to view entries aswell.

We completely understand your thoughts on this, and agree. Over the past month or so, DC has undergone several changes in order to make it a better functioning community for both the designers & the contest holders - of which, adding more Administrators and Moderators was included. I'm sure that you will start to see a difference with more of the recent contests, as well as in the future.

Yes must agree in the difference in date and the amount of useless posts. Maybe issue a warning, not ban, just warning to anyone that posts there through u2u.

I can't really think of any ideas that would cancel it out apart from warnings or choice of moderators from different time regions that can be on at different times to delete these posts while others are not online.

We do have a warning system in place - 3 warnings before anyone is actually banned, and the length of banning depends of course on the severity of the reason for the ban in the first place. The exception to this is if someone were selling other's original designs as their own, copying others work, or something along those lines, they are banned immediately because copyright infringement is not tolerated in any aspect.

The Admin's & Moderators do luckily encompass the globe as far as their physical locations (US, Canada, Russia, etc...) so we do have that covered, and it's not frequent that we're all on at the same time.

No, it's ok, reyna12. Just the changes you were suggesting have been already impemented. Great that you think the same way and most DC members. Keep your ideas coming. We keep improving the functionality of our community and we are open to suggestions. Thank you.
