Too much white. Green & brown ?

Hi, guys:

Today I entered into the blue site and found myself with the new layout. Sorry, but I know some people might be offended but as a Designer one must know how to accept a critic when it contributes to better the image of a customer. I find this layout hard to look at. There is too much white around, no definition in the boxes, I mean, the threads are all sticked together. The gray in the back makes the site look unclean and the brown and green of the texts make the eye hard to focus. Personally the blue site was better on the colours and the structure.

I know that I am being picky but I am a designer, if I am not picky how can I expect to grow on my designs.

I know this is a transition period for all of you into a new site with new rules but the new face should be better than the previous one so you can attract more customers to a clean and professional site and I am afraid this is not.

For the moment I think more work is needed on the top and on the colours to enhance the look and feel of the board.

To give you some facts take a look at this site that uses white as it's background color: www.videogamingforums.com. Blue can be an excelent way to enhance the view or red but not green and brown and not this way.

Well, stopping the critics, I hope this boards goes straight to the moon and have 1000000 customers as it is fair. You can count on me as one of the bricks that forges the building (whether this is luck or not )

While your opinions matter to us - its kind of late to change. This layout has been months in the making (yes it took that long - there were some major conflicts) and to make another one could take even more time.

I also see some problems that will make it look 100% better to look at, and I will see if myself or vBMechanic can fix them.

I for one find it easy to look at, but the actual topics and forums are hard to read. You can always change back to the other skin, as it is still enabled - this is just the default

and just to add: yes this skin does need a little work, and I promise you it will look better when it is 100% completed.

I am sure that you are aware of the dificulties on this skin so I trust on the changes you plan to make this site the coolest !!!

I believe that starting with some contrast in the background texture will enhance the center a lot more.

I am glad that things like this can be freely speakable with cool feedbacks. This is the way to make things great: by speaking.
