I would suggest you start over.
The new design is much too red, there is way too much bevel, too much drop shadow and bright blue does not match the red. I also find it to be extremely large - I would reccomend shrinking it down a bit.
I like the gold logo...

Hi, Waterlogged =)
I agree with Penguin. This are my suggestions:
- use the bevel in a more subtle way (much more subtle) and with a smoth shadow (alpha 40%)
- I think both colors are too bright (also blue and red are not easy to combine)
- If you use a support structure on the frame, try not to use it on the internal pages. Try to find a balance.
- One more thing, as Penguin said, try to work the shapes smaller, your design will look more pro, classy and expensive that way =)
Here is a simple image I prepared to explain better, cause Im not very good with words =). Hope it helps.
take care

It is a logo, if that's what they want to use for their identity. Your job is to figure out how to modify it so it remains what they want, but is distinct to Hydrant.
Your design is too complex, I'm not really sure what you're going for. As Pen said, you've got too much bevel, and your wook looks too much like a first time Photoshop user loving all the new tools he has.
Go back to basics - what's the site for, who's it for, and what do they like? How can that tie into the concept? Then you'll have your answer.
