Anyone have a good place to learn flash, from the basics up (I know none right now), other than flashkit.com? I'm trying to get the basics of simple animation, and actionscripting down, and eventually work my way up to leaning how to make a full site interface in flash.
I'm looking for online sites preferably, but if someone could reccomend me a good book for learning animation it would be a big help.
Learning Flash?

Flash comes with a pretty good helpfile which can help you getting started and solving problems right away. The build in tutorial is not really good though, so you might want to skip that.
I don't know any real good flash tutorial sites from scratch since i always find it more pleasent to start up with a book. I have the FlashMX bible, it's about 1200 pages if iam correct so it will cover a lot. Helps you with a good start in every Flash aspect even a bit of actionscripting.

The other day i needed to buy a book for my nephew about Flash. As long as all my books are advanced ones, he was lost with all the coding. So, i got at Barnes & Nobles "Macromedia Flash MX 2004 : Training from the Source" pretty good book for beginners. You can find some good titles from Macromedia Press.
But when it comes to intermediate and advanced, for sure what you will want to learn is ActionScript. Books from Flash's gurus like Robert Penner or Colin Moock will turn you on a Flashaddict. Other reads (can mention a hundred!) are "Actionscript Cookbook" by Joey Lott and different titles from Friends of Ed.

I promise this isn't a shameless plug, but I have two tutorials on my website that might help you out with basics (that is what they were created for - beginners)
Anyways, you can find them here: http://www.penguinpe...m/tutorials.php under the "Other Tutorials" section. They will teach you how to do a basic motion tween, and will also show you how to make flash buttons.

Hey I know a pretty good place for flash tutorials. www.LearnFlash.com it costs $9.99 for a video tutorial, they are awesome, they talk out and show you every step on what to do. If you are serious about learning flash, you should buy the tutorials. They are directed towards beginners. Also if you don't want to pay for tutorials www.FlashKit.com.
Hope this helps,
Matt
