I watched the opening ceremony on cbc this afternoon and i gotta say, i'm pumped for the games this year.

Any particular sports you guys are watching?

I've got my eye on the cycling, triathlon and definitely the marathon (which is considered to be a huge deal since it's the athenian marathon).

Also, being Swiss and having lived most my life in the US i have two countries to cheer for !

I LOVE CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for those who might not know ;)) They always do an amazing job at the Olympics - and any sporting event for that matter.

Are you living in Canada? Or do you get a CBC satellite feed?

Anyways I think Greece did an excellent job with the opening ceremony. The whole statue breaking up thing was done really well, and the ancient paintings that came to life were also pretty cool.

I have my eye on the triathlon, swimming, cycling and I also like to watch the gymnastics.

I get CBC via Comcast cable. So i live in the USA. I gotta say that with all the american channels i have CBC beats em all. It has better news coverage and the shows (zed is my personal fave) are just flatout better.

As for cycling, I'm getting up at 4 am tommorow so i can watch the road cycling on CBC :)

EDIT: oh yeah, and greece did an awesome job with the opening ceremony. Much more memorable than any i have yet seen.

I like watching most any kind of sports. But like cheering for Russian guys only when they are winning. When they loose I feel very disappointed. I know it's not quite piece of cake to win Olimpics, but how do I put it... I am disappointed in my great country when it shows its failiure to bring up the best sportsmen in the Word :)
