I haven't tried the free version, but I have a select membership there. It's expensive, but if I only get 1 project a month, it pays for itself. I've been on Elance for about 9 months now and have had bids accepted for almost 50 projects.

I like your website Davegk. Are you the one who made that? Where did you learn flash sites? i was trying to make a pop-up window as same as those without scrolling and in specific size but i can't figure out. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks ;)

I've never had any luck with the free elance... are other sites like it out there? I read about guru in another thread... and I know about rentacoder.com but are there others...

I use Guru. Often there are 40-50 bids on a project, so it can be difficult to score a project unless you're willing to work cheap. And it seems that more and more clients are requesting mockups before awarding a contract.

I use Guru occasionally, and it works well for me. I have a free account there, and I only respond to projects that are located near me. In fact I landed my summer job through Guru.com! Check it out, it's worth it.

I've used Guru as well. I don't pay for their services tho. They just send me invitations, and projects that fit under my profile. I don't like how they want you to pay
for each categorie that fit your qualications.

I have used guru and don't like it as well as Elance. I have been pretty successful using elance so far.
