I began in television production at my high school ('03 graduate) and am currently trying to get into the Media Production layer of the Mass Communications school at the Florida State University where I'm a sophomore. Movies are my passion and always will be, but I got hooked on Photoshop about a year and a half ago and have loved it since then. I don't think a filmmaker can just make films these days, they have to make their posters and logos, among other things. So I became interested in graphic design not long ago and had tried to use Illustrator but could never get going. I think it was the pen tool that scared me off because I thought that tool was the base of the program...and I couldn't use it (well). I picked up Illustrator CS for dummies and got reading and began to feel more and more confident about using the program. It's wonderful now and I open it with confidance, still haven't used nearly all the tools I read about, but I'm working on it. I've worked with many of Adobe's programs: Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, GoLive, Encore; and love them all. For graphics, I will usually work between Photoshop and Illustrator to get the exact look I'm after.

I look forward to posting more now that the semester's over and I love seeing everyone else's design and unique vision.

Welcome to DC DirectorSpence.
I'm still teaching myself how to use illustrator, I learned how to use Photoshop about 3 years ago and became too afraid to try anything else (I've never been one for complicated technical stuff).
I hope your stay here is good, and I'm sure you'll meet loads of great people.
