Its me again everyone (remember me.. that annoying former admin lol)
Anyways, after some long work and two different layout choices - I have finally implemented the new version of penguinpedia.com. "the new" Penguinpedia is going back to its old roots of being a designers community. I am now going to offer more tutorials and services to my users for free, as well as a forum where they can chat with each other and get help.
Not everything is working 100% yet - and probably won't be until the end of the month, but since everything else was ready I thought it would be a waste to lose potential members.
Please check it out at: http://www.penguinpedia.com

Looks very nice and clean, good job! As far as suggestions go, I do agree with the others - I think that centering it would make it look better. Also, I think that you should add rollover states to the links in the toolbar like you have done with the main navigation links. Other than that it's looking quite solid, I like the matching forum skin, too. Well done!

Regarding centering - I also prefer sites centered, but it seems there are a lot of people and designers [sounds like designers are not people ] that prefer site padded to left. I guess that is matter of personal taste or something so I kinda used to that left align now [although I still prefer center :D]
beside that, clean ... creative clean, not business clean, which is good and nicer for eyes as far as I concern

Thanks everyone
Concerning the centering: I tried it, and I don't like it. By having it aligned to the left, I find that it "breaks-away" from the average website centered in the middle. I know that sounds ridiculous lol but to me it makes sense...
Also, please add your link to the directory and sign up in the forums! The more designers we get in there the better.

It's nice. Very quite nice. A few things I, myself would do...
1. I would try and include a weee bitty more colour, to add some life to it, its good as a "clean" design, but a dash of say deep red here and there would improve it greatly imo.
2. I would try and seperate things a bit, maybe put a very faint border between the menu on the left, and the main bit for example. Or even change the shade og grey slightly.
3. As the others said...centre it
Thats about it really, but all together very nice. Good job.

hi,
The colors look great with the browser and i think there's enough color. The icons are really classy (if you designed them yourself you did a great job). You should add a favorites icon (favicon.ico) so people can recognize your site more easely if they add it to their favorites (just learned how to make them yesterday and i think they're really cool). And i'm sad to say that I prefer centered sites too.
