DesignContest.net is growing and the word is being spread by many people. The team is offering a small prize of $50 to the first forum member who reffers 50 others. It is a little sign of appreciation to the people who help to grow the community!
Just one important point: only members who put your username in the reffered by field in the registration form count.
These new members should be real members, not just your reincarnations. If they don't post, and act somehow suspiciously, you might get your counter to 0 again...

sounds like a really good idea, but the thing being, i refered 3 ppl the other day. and i bet not one of them entered my name, think about it, when you fill in a form on a website or forum, at the best of times your a tad bashful with it, am i right?
also an idea, how about something where they can accept your referal? or some system to see how many ppl are comfirmed referals (to see how many you have) sorry if im being annoying.

Very valid points shuv, and no not annoying. I am working at the moment on developing a new site to overlay on the forums database. I will include the referral system based on a unique web address, once entered it will put a cookie on the users machine (if they are turned on of course) then on signup your account would be credited.
All of this information will be availible in your user control panel along with a gallery of all of your uploaded work for perspective employers to look over within the main site.
Any more ideas are very welcome.

Don't run it that way...give us a referal link for the sign up page instead.....that way we don't rely on people inserting our info correctly.
I would be able to invite several people but I have nicks and screen names and forum names that are different everywhere.

Actually vBulletin has this feature when a user that visits the forum through a link that contains "referrerid=XXX" will give referral credit to the owner of the referrerid when they register (where XXX is the userid of the referrer). So feel free to link to us in the following form http://www.designcon...?referrerid=xxx
