Okay - can someone help me out here please?

On my site I am in the middle of popping together a flash gallery - so I made it on my desktop and it worked fine.....

Then I uploaded it to my website - but the pictures do not load. They are in the same directory on my webspace, they were in the same folder when I was working on them. I see no reason whey they are not working - can anyone please help out and point me in the right direction to see what's right under my nose?

My site is http://ssf.x3fusion.com

The page is under gallery or http://ssf.x3fusion.com/gallery.html

You can download the zipped version of it from my desktop and see how it works just not on site if that would help :)

MMhmm i dont see any link to a zipped file, but looks like your script do two things: dpic's description is pulled from a txt. file and your images from a folder. Now, i know that you said that they are in the same directory as the swf file but sometimes the path that some codes point to are different from it, so take a look at your ActionScript and you will find something like gallery/folder or gallery/folder/folder.

And remember that not always local paths work in the same way as remotes. Thats why you see on your desktop and not on your web. Hope it helps.

When i click on the link, it redirects me to your homepage meaning that the file doesnt exists. Remmy that usually those kind of free hosting ask you to place your files under the public_html folder.

I uploaded the gallery folder exactly as you sent it, and look at it working here(will remain there for the next hour, then i will delete it) so is not a coding problem.

But that error with the zip file give me a clue and then i tried to access the images of the gallery.... and guess what? you cant access them. For example, click here on my site and click here to see on yours: notice how it redirects to your homepage.

So is on your host end. I recommmend you to contact your host provider thru their Support Forum.

Yo SS

Drop by the Kirupa forums. A few Admins got together and put together an open source gallery that is free for download. It is XML driven. Also we have an awesome flash section where you can get some valued help. Actually for any of you guys I recommend checking it out.

I looked at the gallery which is awesome - unfortunately for some reason my MX keeps coming up with an error box when I try to open the source file. Unexpected file format - and refuses to open it so t'would seem it's a non-starter unless you have any ideas on how to get around it?

If my memory serves me correct it was done in MX04 using AS2. That could be the reason. Or a bad download could be at fault. In any event you should ask over in the forums. I know someone has the answer. I dloaded and ran it fine so I am not sure what happened in your case.

I've not been able to get to the forums all day - some kind of error.

Also I tried the MX and MX04 versions to no luck :(
