Hello fellow designers!
I'm glad I was guided here.
This is truly remarkable site! I think it's just wonderful (and quite a learning experience!) to participate internationally.
I have learned so much in just the short time I've found this. Styles, techniques, thinking out of the box to name a few . . .
I am from Plum Island, Massachusetts.
I was pretty much born an artist/musician. Started winning contests when I was 5. I hold a BFA in Graphic Design from Portland School of Art, now Maine College of Art (MECA — http://www.meca.edu ). My good friend George LaRou, (the famous!) is the professor of New Media there.
I am a Senior Graphic Designer for the New England Journal of Medicine and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Sounds prestigeous, and it is, however, it's non-profit, so the pay isn't all that great, which is why I need freelance work! :)
My ultimate goal is to own my own design business.
I love:
everything that involves art and music,
My fiance Kelly, (we're getting married Aug 6!)
cooking cajun food,
A Course in Miracles,
archaeology,
astronomy,
geology,
mechanics,
teaching,
just to name a few.
It's all good.

peace designer people!
jc

Welcome to the forums!
astrology is fascinating, and archaeology. I also have an interest in forensics, and ancient history.
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, I hope your day is wonderful :)
Feel free to participate in the community and non profit contests, and when you are ready, apply for the design team :)
I hope you continue enjoying what DC has to offer.

Hello zoned — I love the word Namaste, but I do not know what language you're using there. Is that Indian?

peace

Don't look outside of yourself for the truth, for the truth is in you.
