As the technology advances and the Life itself seems to be more chaotic. How an artist can draw simple drawings......

The World is fast so is the art. I Think People started accept complex logos ....

Lovely article, I found it very refreshing to read, and to learn about the trends. It does seem that the modern approach to logo design is to slap so many different variations into one colour pallet, but I guess thats down to technology and the clients needs. That being said, i'm falling in love with the water colour trend.

The watercolours are beautiful. I do believe also it has to do with the eventual owner. The person looking for the logo. I have met business owners who love what they see but know it may not be the best representation of their business. We all know that trends come and go and those that can design the logos that cross all are usually always going to be in demand. I strive for those logos that can capture the image no matter what happens to it...colors, different colors, raster effects, vector, whatever. New to DC but not to art. There is some incredible, incredible talent in DC. Good luck to all of you.

I always enjoy looking at the new trends. I also like the names they come up with too - like 'potato chip' :) I see quite a lot of these trends showing up on DC. However, I'm not a big fan of 'selective focus'. If not done correctly, could look like a very bad print job or could look like someone designed a raster logo in photoshop and then tried to enlarge the logo - uggh - blurry!

very nice article! I love it, This is a great way to see and look for details in a different way, I love new trends, surprising stuff that pops out against others, but to me logos should be simple in other to be able to adapt them to different formats and places such as clothes, prints ect...

As most of the artists said a simple logo is more comfortable and adaptable. No one will disagree on this. But now the business target spans around the globe and some times beyond that. The new-b-trends of 2012 shows the people are more open to the artistic side of logos. It gives more strength to the concept and clear ways to express the brand promise... just my thoughts ;)

In reading on new trends I see that the more simple and stable concepts wil be for the future.. Those who like complexity and can do them will be a rare find :?D

THE FIRST ONE THAT HAS BEEN POSTED BY jjyepez IS WHAT THEY CALLED GEOMETRY OR TESSELLATION IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN BY HOW IT SPELL. ITS A REPEATING OF A SHAPE MAKING AN ART BY 3 OR MORE THAN SHAPE TO MAKE A GEOMETRICAL PATTERN, ACTUALLY IT WAS NOT A NEW ART. IT WAS STARTED BY MIDDLE EAST, THEY CALLED ISLAMIC PATTERN. WHERE EVERYTHING IS SYMMETRY, PROPORTION AND UNITY FOR EACH OTHER.
