Hi Everybody

I just launched this new free site where everyone can enter an URL and the site will estimate the number of visitors that the site has, based on different online sources.

The site is called Statbrain.com and I would really like some feedback.

Try entering your own site and see how good Statbrain.com is at guessing the number of visitors that you have.

I've has some problems with Internal Server Errors so tell me if you get one.

Any sort of feedback is very welcome either here or use the forms on the website for any other confidential feedback.

It's interesting :). Pages are structured well, with just one ad banner at the side. An alright web experience.

Can you publish your method for basing this off of, so it can be assessed (by those who are interested) before using it in an offical market study?

I'm still working on the method and don't wan't to make it public. I might want to make parts of it public at some point, but not right now.

Yes Yes Yes!!

Finally it happened; I solved the “Internal Server Error” problem.

So what was the solution? Well it is all very simple. The Internal Server Errors was something that I hadn’t experienced locally so I figured out I should try a new hosting company. That I did and the problem was solved.

I guess the message is: choose the right hosting company!

P.S. The domain has been transferred 24 hours ago, but some might still see the old hosting company for a few more hours...

The results are usually pretty close, but somethime they are completely off. I'm working on improving the Algorythm to get even better results.

something must be wrong in your engin. I wish the number generated for DC was right (50,229 visitors per day), but to be honest we get under 1000 uniques a day now.

In some cases the number are inaccurate. Resurepus please bear in mind that the estimates are visitors not unique visitors. So it is a bit close but still a lot off.

I get a lot of visitor reports and this is improving the algorythm day by day.

BTW: I had some problems with Alexa the past 5 days, but the problems have been fixed now.

Just a small update from Statbrain. I didn’t want to start a new thread, but I have to tell you about the improvements on Statbrain.

I record all visitor feedback so that I can keep track of the improvement of Statbrain. When Statbrain was launched less then 15% of the visitor estimates were close to the real visitor number. This number has increased to 25%. I know there is a long way to go, but Statbrain is being improved month by month.

With a little help from the visitors 60% of the estimates on Statbrain will be pretty close to the right visitor number.
