I stumbled upon something very interesting today while surfing the logo designs on Templatemonster.com ..

Look at the current DesignContest.net logo

Now look at this:

http://www.templatem...lates/5993.html

VERY similar. I don't think it's wise to have a copied, even if it wasn't intentionaly, logo on a site that sells design..it's tottaly unproffesional and..well, insane.

I'm not saying DesignContest stole the design, they just look veryy similar..

hmm.. while they do look similar, that logo represents a person (see the addition of the head) and the DC.net is supposed to represent the letters "DC" combined. I can see the similarities, but i think the differences are more obvious.

I don't see any problem. Just think how many different firms use the same type of curve combinations to represent a human image. As far as I can tell the designcontest logo isn't even representing a person...

the difference is greater than the similarity, IMO.

It's not copied. I think its obvious its not copied.
Crescents are all over the internet, used in many logo's, including design company logo's, and none as far as I know are accused of copying each other, unprofessionalism, or insanity.
The only similarities I see is the crescents. The differences far outweigh the similarities. The crescents in the templatemonster template are used to convey a person, the ones here are a stylized version of the letters "D" and "C". The ones on templatemonster are all put together into one solid shape to further represent a person, the ones here are seperate, to emphasize the letters they represent.

If the 'MediaMan' logo on that website is analyized probably I think you can tell its intention/style and concept is completely different in comparison to DC and visa versa.

The rest I would of wrote has been done so clearly by illumina.
