Hey everyone!

Well, I've finally had some time to start designing my website. I have the initial idea layed out with a few subpages as well. The text in the window area on the homepage is NOT what will be there! I'm still trying to figure out exactly what to put there. I still have some other tweaking to do as well. The "Portfolio" link works, but not the sublinks on the Portfolio pages yet. Also, the "Websites" link works.

Thanks for any and all opinions/comments/suggestions! :D

What I Like:
- Your Logo (I always have liked it.. I think it works really well for you!)
- The Layout - the rounded corners look really good, and I think this layout breaks away from traditional styles.

What I am not sure about:
- The colours - i am not sure whether or not a third colour would really make it pop. The green just seems like too much for me. Maybe make just the ladybug red? I think it could "pop" that way.

hey shawn,

I think the layout's broken on a 1024x768 screen (ie 6). On the right hand side it seems to just stop, and the curved sector where the info@ideabugmedia is (top right) just seems to stop dead and then there's a roughly 200px drop back to the black/ green portion. You might have designed it that way, it justs looks a bit strange as though the spacing's broken. Oh, and you've got a vertical scrollbar aswell. :p

Sorry if this makes me sound like a moaning git but I wanted to let you know :)

I still love the logo as it has a friendly warming appeal to it :)

Good luck with the company buddy.

Thanks PenguinPedia. I'll see if I can think of something different to do with colors. I know I want to keep the bug green, though, as that is how it is on my business cards, etc.

Nice to see you here ArtistsNeverDie! Do you think you could take a screenshot of what it's doing on your computer and PM it to me? Thanks! I wanted to see how it works in different browsers, at different resolutions, and on different platforms. Then I'll see if I can fix it. Thanks again!

I like the logo but don't really like the site I have to say. It seems a bit incomplete and the 'Our website is currently in creation.' message would back that up. The 'services' page is blank for me and the 'contact' page is a 404.

Now the portfolio page:
Some of the work is very nice, but I would like to see it in more detail.
'chaped' and 'worst food' for example. As a site visitor I would like to click
the logo and have a bigger version pop up. If you are scared that it will get
stolen, you could water mark it. Secondly, the navigation is far too small.
Its hard to click the small text 12345. It would be good to have larger text
and maybe large next/previous buttons.

I agree with JakSmit too in that the porfolio thumbnails should bring up a bigger version of the artwork.

Thanks, guys! When clicked on, the portfolio logos will bring up larger versions as well as any letterhead, cards, etc I have done for that project once I have the site completed. As I said in the first post, the site is in progress and isn't completed yet and is also not live yet. Only the "portfolio" and "websites" pages are made right now, but as stated in the first post, the sublinks are not completed yet either. I hope to finish up some more of it this weekend.

Thanks again for the comments and suggestions! :D

I like everything except for the "broken" part on the right side. I would try leaving that part off and centering the rest of the page on the screen. (You would probably have to add a little more white space and/or border on the sides if you centered the design).

I like some of your work. I am feeling the logo, nice name too. I would reccomend coding this with no tables, its simple enough where you can do it with css. I also like your portfolio (web and logos) they are nicely arranged and easy to look at. One thing I would reccomend is to have more info on each product (perhaps make the thumbnails clickable and lead to that page) so the prospective client can get an idea behind your creative process. Also, I would divide it up into "Logo Portfolio" and "Website Portfolio" instead of portfolio nad websites (since websites is prat of your portfolio)....its just kind of confusing. Good luck with your website :)

Love, love, love the logo. The green isn't bad, but the gray in the back makes the logo seem dull. Maybe a cream color? Something very contrasting to the green you have in the bug. Of course, nothing bright or "in your face" -- try a light color that makes the bug pop off the page.

I love your site and your work. Very clean and simple, which is my style as well.

I enjy that you went with greens instead of the traditional red for the bug. It showcases your originality.

People keep suggesting the addition of a 3rd color to make things 'pop'. I dont see it completely necessary but if you were to try using a third color, what about a nice constrasting orange?

Maybe with more gradients it will look cooler.
Not bad at all though, it's clean and loads fast.
The logo is a good one.

i love your work, its very nice and clean. As for the website, theres just something missing. Maybe another color? or an image backround? but thats just my thought.

Looks unique. I think the "c . a . t . c . h ... t . h . e ... i . d . e . a ... b . u . g" should be lighter. Right now it's hard to read. Almost nothing there. That's all I can think of. Hope that helps.

I'm on a 1024 x 768 Res. and the layout looks really broken! It seems to drop down a bit and it really brings the look of the site down.

I have to say, though, nice job on the logo. Really works for the company and creates a good strong, company image.

I attached a screenshot of what the page looks like in 1024 x 768 just so you can see what I mean!

The site is nice. "clean", without uselss elements that distract the viewer.
In the portfolio i wuold like arrows AND nubers of pages to navigate the 5-6 pages. it is easier clicking on an arrow instead of pointing the little number.
Looking on the graphic of the site, ok, it is easy and clean. maybe to easy? don´t missundestand please, i like minimal art ... i could live in a white room without nothing than my espresso machine :)
the thing i ask often looking portfolio sites is: we make graphics, we promote ourself saying that we are graphic artists. shouldn´t we promote with all our works? in my eyes a portfolio site should have an hi graphic impact even if it is empty. Yuor works are great, but they are not supportet by an hi impact "packaging".
another thing is that the yuor site is anonimous. only the email address. I don´t know if i wuold contac a person that should work for me if i don´t know even his name. It is a general thing. Many sites are made so. in my eyes it is a way to stay anonimous publishing on the World Wide Web.
think about it.
